About The Event
Beeswax wraps are a fantastic, zero-waste alternative to plastic food wrap, that has the added bonuses of keeping your food fresh and looking fantastic!
In this hands-on two hour workshop, Ally Bongard will guide you to make your own beeswax wraps from scratch using pure Tasmanian beeswax. After trialing different recipes and methods, Ally will show you an ideal ratio of ingredients in a simple recipe you can easily replicate at home and tips on variations to the recipe for different needs.
She will also cover the health and environmental benefits of reusable beeswax wraps in place of disposable plastic wrap.
Take home: your very own set of reusable beeswax food wraps (4-6 depending on size) and a copy of Ally's ultimate recipe to try with your friends and family.
Please bring: in the zero waste spirit, please bring along your own fabric pieces to make the wraps with. Choose your own colours and designs and use up a few of those fabric scraps lurking at home. A lightweight, tight weave cotton-like quilters cotton is best. Also if you have your own pinking shears (zigzag scissors), please bring these along too.
